Circuit of The Americas is thrilled to announce musical icons Sting and Eminem as headliners at the Germania Insurance Super Stage during the Formula One Pirelli United States Grand Prix.

On Friday, October 18, Sting will perform fan favorites such as “Roxanne,” “Every Breath You Take,” “Message in a Bottle,” among many others. The rock icon has sold over 100 million albums worldwide and boasts 17 Grammy Awards from his combined work with The Police and as a solo artist. Sting’s performance at the USGP will be the only visit to Texas amid his “Sting 3.0” tour.

Eminem will take over Saturday, October 19 for a rollicking performance honoring his tremendous impact on hip hop and the music industry during the past two decades. 2024 is a special year for the Detroit rapper – it marks the 25th anniversary of his epic Slim Shady LP – which made him famous with the hit “My Name Is”. Eminem just announced his new album “The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grace)” which will be released this summer.  Eminem hasn’t played a headlining show in 5 years making this appearance a can’t-miss opportunity to see a living legend perform.

Tickets to the USGP include access to these headlining concerts after the on-track action ends for the day, making for a weekend of nonstop entertainment at The Circuit. In 2023, Formula One organizers awarded COTA with the Event Spectacle Award in honor of the incomparable fan experience during USGP weekend. NASCAR at COTA took over The Circuit this past weekend, and COTA was honored to share the experience with the Central Texas community.

Schoolteachers in the Del Valle and Austin districts were given two free tickets to the entire NASCAR at COTA race weekend. Any additional tickets needed were offered at a discounted rate for those teachers bringing more family and friends to see the action. Over 2000 teachers and their guests filled Turns 12 and 15 grandstands, taking in some of the best views of the Circuit.

“Our neighbors are the foundation of Circuit of The Americas’ continued success. Teachers are the backbone of that community and we’re always thrilled to welcome them to our campus and create lifelong memories,” said COTA’s Director of Public Engagement, Carter McCullen.

NASCAR Cup Series driver Bubba Wallace and his Live to Be Different Foundation helped COTA and Speedway Children’s Charities welcome students from KIPP Texas Public Schools for a special, student-led Q&A session on Saturday. KIPP Texas is an open-enrollment, free public charter school network helping to prepare students for life post-graduation. Bubba Wallace spoke about the responsibilities and risks of his profession, and shared valuable advice about perseverance applying to both the workforce and higher education.

On Sunday, COTA welcomed students and faculty from Huston-Tillotson University in partnership with Speedway Children’s Charities. The historic HBCU in the heart of Austin is a key community partner of COTA and the group was able to enjoy not only the thrills of the EchoPark Automotive Grand Prix at the Circuit, but also get on-track access to the Riley Green pre-race concert.

As NASCAR returns to COTA this weekend, a special gathering celebrated Women in Sports as part of Women’s History Month.

Women in Sports Presented by NASCAR gathered a group of women across the sports industry to share their personal experiences navigating traditionally male dominated fields.

After Austin’s Fox 7 and COTA Track TV Host Tierra Neubaum opened the event, Amanda Busick from FOX Sports spoke to her motorsports fandom and how she’s navigated a nontraditional career path to the paddock.

Shelley Phillips and Karly Tuckness, Founders of Four Leaf Productions, shared advice on the highs and lows of starting a business from their personal experiences. The duo and their company produced NASCAR’s first-ever Chicago Street Race in 2023, successfully building all non-racing elements of the event weekend in the heart of a major city.

Inspirational athletes Celera Barnes and Lizzi Smith spoke with Tierra about the struggles they’ve overcome to find success in their sports: Track & Field and Paralympic Swimming, respectively. Celera spoke about the powerful impact of female coaches in her life and encouraged the audience to lean on the women around them for support. Lizzie is grateful to be an inspiration for athletes with different abilities – she was born without a left forearm and has gone on to win 2 Paralympic Silver Medals and 1 Bronze.

NASCAR’s Toni Breidinger spoke about her racing career, and how she hopes to expand the female presence in the sport moving forward. She’s proud of the barriers she’s broken thus far and is confident this is only the beginning of her story.

To close out the event, Jessica Fickenscher and Marissa Cheney from Speedway Children’s Charities spoke about the organization’s mission to fund direct needs of children facing pressing obstacles. The charity is providing special access to some of the children in need this weekend at COTA.

To experience the thrills of NASCAR at COTA, visit COTA’s website for tickets and updates.

Super Lap Battle at Circuit of The Americas welcomed a new, never-before seen race format to the schedule this year.

In collaboration with Autism Speaks, COTA and the Super Lap Battle team staged the Great Inflatable Race during Sunday’s lunch hour. Autism Speaks coordinated outreach to the greater Central Texas area to invite families and motorsports fans with connections to the Autism Spectrum to participate. Children were invited onto COTA’s world-famous track to compete in a friendly foot race down the front straight with Super Lap Battle drivers in inflatable costumes – bringing smiles and laughs to the whole grid.

“Seeing the kids’ faces light up as they got to walk onto the F1 track was beautiful. Also, having a space where the families could walk into the car garages and talk to drivers while the cars are off, so it was sensory sensitive, is life changing. A lot of kids love racing, but would never normally get to see them up close! Having the opportunity to offer that to our families was priceless” said Brittany Durand, Autism Speaks Central Texas Representative.

International Women’s Day is a worldwide celebration of the achievements of women – especially honoring female inclusion in male-dominated fields. Motorsports is a key industry where the women are making their mark now more than ever before. Here are two women in motorsports that we’re watching break barriers this weekend:

Reema Juffali

Saudi Arabia’s first-ever female driver is victory enough for Reema Juffali – but she’s not stopping there. This weekend in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, she has been confirmed as the Wild Card entry for the first round of the 2024 F1 Academy series. Racing on the streets of Jeddah, Reema is representing her country in her hometown.

Doriane Pin

Doriane is taking the all-female F1 Academy by storm and not looking back. In her first ever F1 Academy race in Saudi Arabia, she led from the front with a getaway at lights out and never looked back. Doriane will get her chance to conquer the world-famous COTA track as part of the WEC – making its return to the Circuit September 1, 2024. Get your tickets now to see this star in action!

Circuit of The Americas is a proud part of the Austin community – and now, one Austin resident has made COTA a part of her home.

South Austin resident Lisa Weinberger has created an impressive replica of COTA in her backyard lovingly dedicated to her late husband as the Driven to Care Memorial.

COTA held an incredibly moving memorial service for Lisa’s late husband John in 2020 that included a victory lap around the track in his hearse. The couple have intensive ties to motorsports and automobiles. They landed in Austin in 2012 as a result of COTA’s inaugural Formula 1 United States Grand Prix.

COTA’s Chairman Bobby Epstein visited the replica and provided the surprise of a lifetime for Lisa by gifting her an original track core piece from Turn 12. Lisa and her late husband sat at Turn 12 during the first USGP at COTA in 2012 and the location is an incredibly special memory she carries with her. It is also the place where Lisa lovingly spun out her husband’s hearse during her victory lap at his memorial service.

Now, the track core is placed at Turn 12 of Lisa’s replica to forever tie her memorial with the heart of COTA’s world famous racetrack. “We’re trying to be part of the community, and this is Austin, and this is the community, and to see it embraced like this is beyond what we’d expect,” said Epstein.
